Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Minneapolis, MN seeks a senior Piping Engineering & Analysis professional to lead project teams, review complex calculations, and manage design and drawings within ASME B31.1 and BPV Section III frameworks.

You will guide multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate vendor submittals, and ensure technically sound, cost-effective deliverables while operating on a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite element analysis.
• P.E. license.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME B31.1 and ASME BPV Section III piping codes.
• Knowledge of pipe supporting elements design and application.
• Working knowledge of piping products and applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Reviews complex calculations and approves simple calculations; provides technical guidance to project team members.
• Reviews and approves simple and complex system/structural designs and drawings for quality and operability.
• Performs engineering review of drawings and defines client expectations for drawings.
• Prepares and reviews major system, installation, and material specifications; coordinates vendor submittals.
• Prepares bid evaluations and participates in bid negotiations; may evaluate change orders.
• Prepares and reviews single-discipline and multi-discipline reports to ensure clarity and cost-effectiveness.
