Job summary

Commonwealth Fusion Systems in Devens, MA seeks a Lead Piping Engineer to lead piping engineering, including pipe stress analysis, standards, and supports, directing internal staff or contractors.

You will collaborate with mechanical, civil, and project teams, ensure compliance with ASME B31.1/B31.3 and related codes, and drive design optimization and documentation across projects. We offer equity, strong growth, and a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/structural engineering from an accredited university.
• 10+ years of piping engineering experience with pipe stress and materials.
• Proficiency with AutoPIPE or similar pipe stress software.
• Strong knowledge of ASME B31.1 and B31.3 and related codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping stress analyses and develop standards for pipe support systems.
• Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and project teams to optimize layouts.
• Ensure design compliance with ASME B31.1, B31.3, and other codes.
• Review vendor drawings and support documentation.
• Mentor piping engineers and oversee contractors.
