Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineer for our Building Mechanical team. The role offers a hybrid work model from any Jacobs location and involves delivering state-of-the-art industrial facility designs.

You will lead piping discipline tasks, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, perform design calculations, and mentor junior staff while supporting travel to client sites as needed.

This position requires strong communication, problem solving, and collaboration to help clients succeed.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of piping design experience for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and perform field/site visits (up to 10% travel).
• Ability to lead a building mechanical team and collaborate remotely.

Responsibilities

• Apply piping procedures and codes to piping design projects.
• Develop piping concept designs.
• Perform piping design calculations including equipment sizing.
• Create P&ID’s and Block Flow Diagrams.
• Perform equipment selections and generate system specifications.
• Coordinate with project team, contractors and other disciplines.
• Lead design team within piping discipline.
• Support work for/in other offices and travel.
• Mentor junior staff.
