Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineer to join our Building Mechanical team on state-of-the-art industrial facilities. The role offers a hybrid model from ANY Jacobs location in the U.S.

You will work on design, calculations, P&IDs, and equipment selection while collaborating with architectural, structural, electrical, and process disciplines. You will mentor junior staff, lead piping tasks, and coordinate with project teams to deliver cost-effective, safe, and compliant solutions.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years’ experience in piping design for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Strong written and verbal skill set.
• Ability to travel (estimated travel time is 10%).

Responsibilities

• Perform piping systems concept development.
• Generate piping design calculations including equipment sizing and pipe sizing calculations.
• Create P&ID’s and Block Flow Diagrams.
• Perform equipment selections.
• Coordinate and collaborate with project team members, contractors, clients and other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical and process to develop designs.
• Lead a design team within the piping discipline and takes responsibility for their portion of the discipline's scope, schedule and budget.
