Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineer to join our Building Mechanical team. You will perform mechanical/piping engineering under the supervision of a senior project manager, coordinate piping design tasks, review drawings, and meet with clients locally.

Bring a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years in piping design for industrial/commercial facilities, strong communication, and the ability to lead a design team across offices. Travel may be needed and a hybrid workplace is offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience in piping design for industrial and commercial facilities.
• Ability to perform field/site visits and travel (estimated travel time ~10%).
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping design tasks within the discipline and coordinate with project teams.
• Create P&ID’s and Block Flow Diagrams; perform equipment sizing and pipe sizing calculations.
• Perform static pipe stress analysis and ensure QA of drawings by team members.
• Collaborate with architectural, structural, electrical, and process disciplines to develop designs.
• Mentor junior staff and lead design activities across local and remote team members.
