Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Piping Engineer to join the Building Mechanical team. You will design piping systems for state-of-the-art industrial facilities, mentor junior staff, and coordinate with related disciplines. Travel to client sites and other offices is possible as part of project execution.

The role supports a hybrid work model from Jacobs locations in the U.S. The ideal candidate has 8+ years in piping design, a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and proficiency in Revit, Plant 3D, AutoCAD,

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8+ years’ piping design experience for industrial/commercial facilities.
• Willingness to travel (estimated 10%).
• Strong written and verbal skills; ability to lead a design team.

Responsibilities

• Lead piping design activities within the discipline on projects.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including architectural, structural, electrical and process.
• Generate P&ID’s, equipment sizing and pipe sizing calculations.
• Perform static pipe stress analysis and QA reviews.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers within the team.
• Occasionally travel to client sites and other offices as needed.
• Organize work and manage schedule and budget for the discipline.
