Job summary

Enercon Services, Inc. is seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer for its Nuclear Services Group. The role focuses on piping stress analysis, documentation, and design support for nuclear and non-nuclear projects, with travel to multiple US locations including Naperville, IL.

The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience in mechanical piping and ASME Section III fatigue design, plus proficiency with AutoPIPE, Caesar II and related tools. PE license and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in the design of mechanical piping systems, and pipe stress analysis
  • Must demonstrate significant ASME Section III Class 1 Fatigue design experience
  • Experience with AutoPIPE (preferred), ME 101, Peps PIPESTRESS (preferred), Caesar II, Tpipe, NuPipe, SuperPipe, ADL Pipe
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor, work effectively in teams, and provide leadership/mentoring to junior engineers
  • Nuclear Industry knowledge / experience
  • Experience with ASME B&PV Section III analysis NB/NC/ND/NF
  • PE license required
  • Willing to travel and obtain unescorted access to US Nuclear facility
  • Experience with piping vibration evaluation and analysis
  • Experience with piping layout and isometric generation
  • Experience with reviewing simple/complex structural designs
  • Experience with drawing production inputs (P&IDs, Master Diagrams)
  • Experience with material/equipment specifications and bid evaluations
  • Experience with proposals, budgets, schedules, and project plans

Responsibilities

  • Pipe Stress Analysis & Pipe Support Design: prepare documentation for process and utility piping systems for nuclear and non-nuclear projects
  • Perform static and dynamic piping flexibility analysis for critical piping systems
  • Analyze sustained, thermal, multiple operating cases; occasional winds and seismic events
  • Identify supports and coordinate with Civil/Structural group
  • Sign-off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supports
  • Prepare engineering documents (drawings, calculations, analyses) per codes and client procedures
  • Regulatory compliance with industry standards; maintain knowledge of codes and safety practices
  • Quality assurance: peer reviews of engineering designs and documents
  • Client relations: engage customers to define scope and discuss risks
  • Provide leadership and mentoring; support procurement and project management
  • Contribute to lean design improvements and Design to Cost initiatives
  • Lead initiatives and coach junior engineers; collaborate across disciplines
  • Travel to nuclear plant outages as needed
  • Assist with bid evaluations and proposals
