Job summary

Northwest Texas Healthcare System is seeking a Senior Phlebotomist to perform venipunctures, capillary collections, and POCT under supervision. The role includes training phlebotomy students and new staff, and ensuring adherence to CAP, CLIA ’88, and Joint Commission standards.

Applicants should have high school education with phlebotomy training, preferred phlebotomy experience, and current BLS certification with a Texas driver license.

Qualifications

• High school education with phlebotomy training preferred.
• One year full-time phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Current BLS certification and Texas driver license required/corrective action within deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures, capillary collections, and POCT per standards and policies.
• Train and mentor phlebotomy students and new staff as directed by the Phlebotomy Coordinator.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of specimen handling and test result reporting.
