Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy certificate where state requires it.

Responsibilities

• Verify test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log; report discrepancies.
• Verify patient identity by reading patient identification.
• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity by aseptic technique and department procedures.
• Track collected specimens by dating and initialing; keep daily tallies.
