Job summary

Texas Oncology in Flower Mound is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. The role supports specimen collection and processing under supervision, ensuring patient identification and safety protocols are followed, with typical hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include phlebotomy, maintaining logs, inventory, and proper handling of specimens, along with compliance with CLIA and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Licensure from an accredited school of phlebotomy recommended.
• Current state licensure if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and collects appropriate specimens from patients as ordered.
• Maintains proper documentation and logs as described by QA programs.
• Maintains adequate inventory of supplies and ensures viability of supplies before use.
• Sends specimens to reference labs for testing not performed in-house.
• Updates and files daily paperwork and lab logs.
• Properly identifies patients and handles specimens per policy.
• Ensures a clean, safe work environment and adheres to OSHA standards.
