Job summary

Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX, a 414-bed acute care facility, seeks a Phlebotomist to join the Laboratory team. A high school diploma or GED is required; ASCP certification is preferred but not required. You must be able to commute between facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or highest education level; training/certification in phlebotomy preferred; previous experience preferred.
• ASCP certified phlebotomist is desirable but not required; commuting between facilities may be needed; proof of high school diploma or equivalent on hire.
• Must read/write, learn computer systems, and demonstrate skill in obtaining specimens from all age groups; strong verbal communication and customer service are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine blood drawing procedures including collection of venous and capillary specimens.
• Respond to hospital codes as necessary and perform bedside testing per physician orders.
• Assist in clerical duties and processing of outpatients.
