Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate with internship demonstrating 100 successful venipunctures.
• In lieu of internship, 6 months phlebotomy experience may be considered.
• In lieu of phlebotomy certification, 5+ years direct phlebotomy experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood and other specimens from adults and pediatric patients.
• Prepare specimens for transport to laboratory for testing.
• Prepare and maintain related records.
• Perform related clerical tasks and patient registration as needed.
• Disinfect work area and follow universal precautions.
• May visit patients' homes for services.
