Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Phlebotomist to obtain blood samples in satellite physician offices and, when needed, at patients' homes. You will prepare specimens for transport and maintain related records.

Under supervision, you will perform venipuncture on adults, children, and infants, verify patient identity, handle ABN documentation, and support clerical tasks while adhering to safety protocols.

This full-time role requires a Phlebotomy certificate or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy certificate or completion of a program with internship (100 venipunctures).
• In lieu of internship, 6 months phlebotomy experience.
• In lieu of certification, 5+ years phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs venipuncture, capillary puncture on adults, children and infants.
• Collects specimens and prepares for laboratory transport.
• Registers patients and verifies demographics and insurance information.
• Maintains records, inventory and supplies; ensures patient safety.
• Explains procedures to patients and assists with prep as needed.
