Natera in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a Sr Phlebotomist to identify the best method for blood collection, prepare specimens for testing, and perform screening procedures. This on-site role requires a minimum of 5 years phlebotomy experience and relevant certifications.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, coordination with physicians and nursing staff, and adherence to HIPAA/PHI privacy, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• BS/BA degree preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by State).

Responsabilités

• Verify test requisitions by comparing information and resolve discrepancies.
• Verify patient identity.
• Obtain blood specimens by venipuncture and finger sticks.
• Maintain specimen integrity using aseptic technique and procedures.
• Track specimens with dates and times and maintain daily tallies.
• Maintain quality results by documenting data and reporting changes.
• Maintain safe, compliant work environment per policies and laws.
• Consult with physicians and labs for unusual orders and clarification.
• Participate in training and professional development on HIPAA/PHI privacy.
• Enhance department operations and explore value-adding opportunities.
• Handle PHI securely in paper and electronic form.
• Complete required training within 30 days of hire.
• Maintain current Natera training requirements.
• Logistical management for patient reports; handle billing triage and courier scheduling.
