Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center seeks an Advanced Pharmacy Technician to support Aston Infusion Clinic and Ambulatory Infusion, performing sterile compounding to USP 797/800 and in compliance with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; 4 years as a pharmacy technician and 2 years in a specialized area; TSBP registration as a Technician or PHARM INTERN, Sterile Compounding (IV) certification, and BLS. Preferred: national certification in sterile prep.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: 4 years as a pharmacy technician, and 2 years in a specialized area.
• Licenses and Certifications: (TSBP) Registered Pharmacy Technician or (PHARM INT) Pharmacist intern; Sterile Compounding (IV) certification; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs sterile compounding for Aston Infusion Clinic and Ambulatory Infusion per USP 797/800.
• Coordinates daily workflow and provides leadership to other technicians.
• Audits and signs out controlled substances; ensures accuracy and compliance.
• Handles medication inventories, reports discrepancies, and maintains safety and cleanliness.
