Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Pharmacy Technician to supervise and support the handling of investigational and hazardous medications. You will manage inventory, ensure compliance with state/federal guidelines, and collaborate with pharmacists and nurses to provide safe, efficient patient care.

The role requires a high school diploma, 4+ years as a pharmacy technician plus 2 years in a specialized area, and relevant licenses/certifications.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years as a pharmacy technician and 2 years in a specialized area.
• Active licenses/certifications with Texas Board of Pharmacy or Pharmacist intern registration and sterile compounding certification.

Responsibilities

• Audits and signs out all controlled substances per policy.
• Coordinate daily workflow in assigned area and provide leadership to technicians.
• Handle ordering, shipping, receiving, and documentation of inventory.
• Perform sterile and hazardous compounding in accordance with USP protocols.
• Operate and troubleshoot pharmacy automation and inventory systems.
