Job summary

USPI South Texas Specialty Hospital is seeking a Full Time Pharmacy Technician to join our team. The technician will work under a pharmacist, filling cabinets, managing inventory, and compounding sterile products to support outpatient procedures in Orthopedic and Spine care.

The role requires Texas registration, PTCB, and BLS; sterile compounding experience and Cerner/Pyxis familiarity are preferred to ensure accurate record-keeping and timely medication distribution.

Qualifications

• Certified Pharmacy Technician registered with the state of Texas, required.
• PTCB Certified, required.
• BLS required.
• Graduate of accredited pharmacy technician training program preferred but not required.
• ACPE Sterile Product Preparation Certification preferred upon hire. Required within the first 90 days.
• Experience With Cerner And Pyxis Preferred.
• Sterile Compounding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fulfills daily tasks such as filling automated dispensing cabinets, emergency boxes, and floor stock.
• Maintains accurate records and completes charges for main facility and outpatient.
• Compounds sterile products and unit-doses bulk products.
• Assists in inventory management to maintain patient care and budget.
• Communicates needs to pharmacists and pharmacy leadership.
• Keeps areas clean, neat, and orderly; performs calculations as needed.
