Job summary

Blue Shield of California seeks a Sr. Manager, Program and Project Management within the Pharmacy team to support membership growth and retention strategies, lead pharmacy accounts and sales support, and shape product initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing pharmacy strategies, leading RFP responses, pricing strategies with underwriting, and delivering training and sales collateral to highlight value to clients and brokers.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of prior relevant experience, including 4 years of management experience.
• Experience presenting pharmacy program value to clients, brokers, and consultants.
• Experience in pharmacy benefit client contracting with understanding of contracting tactics and marketplace requirements.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written skills.
• Strong business acumen with proven experience in strategy development and planning.
• Proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business unit teams to support planning and develop pharmacy strategies that align with business unit growth and profitability objectives.
• Partner with business unit sales and management team to develop and complete competitive pharmacy RFP strategies and responses.
• Partner with underwriting to develop pharmacy pricing and guarantee strategies for self‑funded groups to improve competitive position.
• Lead development and maintenance of an integrated pharmacy value story to support membership growth and retention.
• Manage team and work cross‑functionally to resolve pharmacy client issues, respond to day‑to‑day client inquiries, and ensure client contract guarantees and deliverables are met.
• Provide pharmacy consultative support and develop training tools, presentations, and sales collateral on pharmacy product offerings and value proposition to support sales.
• Actively participate in client renewals, broker meetings, and finalist presentations to promote pharmacy value proposition.
