Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Sr. Manager, Program and Project Management to lead the pharmacy accounts and sales support team, driving employer group account management, client renewal, and new membership growth for both fully insured and self-funded pharmacy membership.

The role emphasizes developing strategies, presenting program value to clients, and shaping pharmacy product initiatives, with a leadership focus on building high-performing teams in a dynamic healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Requires 10 years of prior relevant experience, including 4 years of management experience.
• Requires prior experience in presenting pharmacy program value to clients, brokers, and consultants.
• Requires prior experience in pharmacy benefit client contracting with understanding of contracting tactics and marketplace requirements.
• Excellent presentation, verbal, and written skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences is preferred.
• Strong business acumen with proven experience in strategy development and planning is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership of the pharmacy accounts and sales support team to support employer group account management and client renewal.
• Support membership growth and retention initiatives for fully insured and self-funded pharmacy membership.
• Lead new membership acquisition activities and contribute to pharmacy products and initiative strategies development.
• Collaborate with other leaders to foster high-performing teams and drive results in alignment with organizational goals.
