Job summary

Eli Lilly and Company seeks a capital projects design lead to drive engineering design standards and regulatory alignment across pharmaceutical capital projects. You will coordinate design activities through all project phases, lead design reviews, and partner with A/E firms to ensure on-time delivery and value.

The role requires a BS in Engineering, 5+ years of pharma/ API experience, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical preferred)
• Minimum of 5-years manufacturing and/or engineering experience in support of pharmaceutical or API networks
• Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis (company does not sponsor visas)

Responsibilities

• Lead in the identification of Engineering Design Standards, Functional Standards, Specifications and Regulatory requirements
• Be responsible for the overall design delivery for capital project(s)
• Coordinate design for the Project Manager during all design phases and deliver conceptual and basic design reviews
• Direct the development of design requirements
• Assist in development and maintenance of the design schedule
• Participate in selection of A/E firms
• Coordinate with A/E firms to develop earned value progress systems
• Expedite design decisions and coordinate information flow between the design team and end user
• Ensure design meets approved intent through interactions with design firm and end users
• Maintain governance of design activities and resolve design-related problems
• Develop strategies to improve design hours plan and efficiency
• Assist in development of SOPs, project delivery instructions and best practices
• Review and approve key design project personnel
• Coordinate with Engineering Tech Center resources to address design issues
• Ensure replication of design where applicable
• Support value engineering during projects
• Review design-related invoices and participate in KPI reviews
• Participate in selection of verification professional services
• Develop Project Verification Plan, Traceability Matrix and risk assessments

Education
