Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Personal/Universal Banker in the United States to deliver exceptional client service across a full range of banking products. You will open, maintain and service accounts, process money movements, prepare client materials and reports, and resolve inquiries.

The role emphasizes cross-selling and maintaining accurate records within banking guidelines. The successful candidate will mentor peers, engage subject matter experts, and stay current with banking applications

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of banking operations, products and services.
• Knowledge of federal regulations and banking guidelines.
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to think critically and work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Understand the business model and engage SME to explore opportunities.
• Execute client account servicing activities within time frames (wires, transfers, openings/closings).
• Proactively communicate with relationship management and operations teams to obtain information.
• Handle cash transactions and daily balancing; adhere to policy guidelines.
• Assist with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes when available.
• Demonstrate expertise in setting up client accounts and services; review documentation for completeness.
• Maintain knowledge of applications critical to client and account servicing and stay updated on enhancements.
• Keep informed of new products and services to respond to client questions and expand relationships.
• Monitor banking reports and assist with banking audits as directed by Team Leader/Manager.
• Mentor fellow Personal Bankers and share expertise in deposit area as designated.
• Cross-train on the Northern Trust teller system.
