Job summary

Core States Group in the United States seeks a Permitting & Regulatory Compliance Specialist II to independently manage a caseload of permitting projects from initiation through approval. You will be the main client liaison, coordinate with agencies and internal teams, and ensure timely regulatory outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; 4–6+ years in permitting or related fields.
• Experience in architecture, planning, real estate, engineering, construction, government, or related field.
• Must have Retail petroleum / UST.
• Air quality permitting experience is a strong plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong project and time management; client-facing.
• Ability to identify practical uses for company-approved AI tools to improve team processes.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage a defined caseload portfolio of permitting and compliance projects from initiation through approval.
• Serve as the primary liaison between clients, agencies, and internal teams.
• Prepare, review, and submit complete and accurate permit applications.
• Analyze and respond to agency comments and monitor project timelines to meet deadlines.
• Identify risks early and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
• Coordinate across disciplines (engineering, design, environmental, etc.).
• Maintain proactive communication with clients regarding status, risks, and outcomes.
• Delegate tasks to Level I staff and review junior staff work for quality and completeness.
