Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical / surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standings.
• ACLS Course within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to policies.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe physiology and anesthesia techniques.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia and related care.
• Provide pain management and administer medications safely.
• Document care and provide hand-off reports to teammates.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in quality improvement.
