Job summary

SCA Health in Farmington Hills, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse in the PreOp/PACU to support perioperative care across the patient journey. You will assess preoperative status, monitor recovery, and collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure safe transfers and timely dispositions.

The role requires an accredited nursing degree, active state license, and BLS/BCLS within 90 days; ACLS and PALS if applicable.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice within good standing.
• BLS/BCLS within 90 days of employment or current BLS/BCLS certification.
• ACLS within 90 days of employment or current ACLS certification.
• PALS required when pediatric care is included within scope within 90 days or current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA Health.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policy.
• Interpret information from monitors and describe pathophysiology of diseases.
• Develop individualized perianesthesia plan of care and implement it.
• Prepare for and manage patient recovery from anesthesia across settings.
• Communicate patient status during perioperative care and provide pain management.
• Administer medications safely and document care accurately.
• Protect patient from infection and maintain privacy and dignity.
• Transfer care and provide concise hand-off reports to teammates.
