Job summary

SCA Health is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the PreOp/PACU role in the United States. You will assess preoperative and postoperative status, craft a perianesthesia plan, and monitor patients to ensure safety throughout recovery.

Responsibilities include medication administration, adherence to discharge criteria, and collaborative care with anesthesia and surgical teams. State RN licensure and BLS/BCLS required; ACLS/PALS per facility policy.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of PreOperative or PACU experience.
• Current state licensure to practice as RN with BLS/BCLS and ACLS/PALS where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status per policy, including cardiovascular, respiratory, neurological, and pain management needs.
• Interpret monitoring data and ensure safe patient care plan.
• Apply discharge criteria and transfer planning (Aldrete, PADSS, etc.).
• Develop and implement an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Provide hand-off report to the team with concise, pertinent information.

Skills

Preoperative/PACU experience

Medical/surgical nursing experience

RN licensure in good standing

BLS/BCLS within 90 days

ACLS within 90 days

PALS required if pediatric care is in/

Education

Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing
