Job summary

SCA Health in Woodbury, MN is seeking a Perioperative Nurse to support preoperative and PACU care across our ambulatory surgical centers. You will monitor patient status, assist with anesthesia recovery, and coordinate with anesthesia teams to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.

Requirements include graduation from an Accredited School of Nursing, 1 year PACU/preoperative experience, active RN licensure, and BLS/BCLS within 90 days. ACLS and PALS as applicable.

Qualifications

• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Current state licensure to practice nursing in the state.
• BLS or BCLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of employment.
• PALS certification required when pediatric care is included.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of SCA.
• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status according to facility policies.
• Interpret information from monitors.
• Describe pathophysiology of disease processes.
• Describe anesthesia techniques and interventions.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement the plan of care including recovery management for various anesthesia techniques.
• Protect patient from injury and ensure safety during perioperative care.
• Communicate patient status to care team and provide education as needed.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and participate in quality improvement.
