Job summary

Beacon Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a skilled Perioperative Nurse to join our Cincinnati team. You will preoperatively assess patients and manage recovery from anesthesia across multiple modalities, ensuring patient safety and education throughout the perioperative continuum. The ideal candidate holds an accredited nursing degree, Ohio licensure, and 1 year PACU or preoperative experience, with ACLS/BLS certifications.

Pediatric care? PALS may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience required.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state nursing licensure in good standing.
• ACLS/BLS within 90 days of employment or current certification.
• PALS required when pediatric care is included in scope.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient’s preoperative and postoperative status following facility policies and procedures.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Explain pathophysiology of diseases and anesthesia implications.
• Develop and implement individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Manage recovery from anesthesia across various modalities.
• Protect patient from injury and infection and ensure safety during positioning and care.
• Communicate patient status during the perioperative continuum and provide education to patient and family.
• Provide hand-off reports and collaborate with team for quality care.
