Job summary

SCA Health is seeking a qualified perioperative nurse to join our PACU team. The RN will assess patients preoperatively and postoperatively, monitor cardiovascular and respiratory status, and develop individualized perianesthesia care plans.

You will manage recovery across general, MAC, regional and local anesthesia, ensuring safety, infection control, and effective patient education. Collaboration with physicians and care teams is essential.

Qualifications

RN licensed to practice in state
1 year of Pre Operative or PACU experience preferred
Medical/surgical nursing experience beneficial
BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred or required by facility policy

Responsibilities

Assess patient preoperative and postoperative status per policy
Monitor cardiovascular, respiratory, neurologic, and hemodynamic status
Describe pathophysiology of disease processes and anesthesia-related physiology
Develop and implement perianesthesia plan of care
Manage recovery from anesthesia across general, MAC, regional, and local anesthesia
Ensure patient safety, infection control, and wound integrity
Provide patient and family education regarding perioperative care and expected outcomes
Collaborate with care teams and provide clear hand-off reports
