Job summary

SCA Health in Fair Lawn, NJ seeks a perioperative nurse to support preoperative and postoperative care in our ambulatory setting. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to promote patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative continuum.

The role requires nursing graduates with 1 year PACU/preop experience, current NJ licensure, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification if pediatric care is included; we offer competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing.
• One year of Pre Operative or PACU experience.
• Medical/surgical nursing experience.
• Current state licensure and BLS/BCLS within 90 days.
• ACLS and PALS certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient preoperative and postoperative status according to facility policies.
• Interpret information from noninvasive and invasive monitors.
• Explain pathophysiology of common disease processes and anesthesia techniques.
• Develop an individualized perianesthesia plan of care.
• Implement plan of care including recovery from anesthesia—general, MAC, regional or local.
• Provide hand-off report to teammates with concise, relevant information.
• Delegate tasks per applicable regulations and job descriptions.
• Document nursing care accurately and completely.
