Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to lead performance testing across large-scale healthcare technology programs. Qualifications

• 5+ years of performance testing and engineering for large-scale web, mobile, and digital apps.
• Experience with REST/GraphQL/SOAP APIs and microservices environments.
• Proficiency deploying and managing JMeter in cloud containerized setups (Kubernetes on AWS).
• Ability to build workload models from production data and report risks clearly.
• Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD and shift-left practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead performance testing activities including planning, workload modeling, test design, scripting, execution, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to align non-functional requirements and performance SLOs.
• Design and execute load, stress, spike, endurance, scalability, and capacity testing scenarios.
• Develop realistic workload models from production usage patterns and growth projections.
• Plan test environments, data strategies, and observability for distributed tests.
• Analyze metrics across apps, infra, JVMs, containers, and cloud platforms to identify bottlenecks.
• Provide actionable recommendations to improve performance and scalability.
• Mentor engineers in performance engineering practices and tools.
