Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to lead performance testing across large-scale healthcare technology programs. You will define testing strategies, develop frameworks, model workloads, and evaluate scalability, reliability, and capacity.

This is a remote position partnering with cross-functional teams to drive improvements. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in performance testing/engineering, strong experience with API styles, cloud platforms, and CI/CD integration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of performance testing and engineering for large-scale web, mobile, and digital applications, APIs, and microservices; 2+ years in a technical lead role.
• Strong experience with REST, GraphQL, SOAP, HTTP/S, WebSockets; scalable architectures (monolith, microservices, serverless).
• Proficient deploying, executing, and managing JMeter in cloud-hosted containerized environments (Kubernetes on AWS).
• Ability to build workload models from production usage data and produce performance reports with actionable insights.
• Experience integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines and supporting shift-left performance practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead performance testing activities including planning, workload modeling, test design, scripting, execution, analysis, reporting, and stakeholder communication.
• Establish performance baselines and identify regressions across releases.
• Design, develop, and maintain performance testing frameworks and CI/CD integrations; support cloud-native testing (AWS, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Mentor engineers on performance engineering methods, tools, and best practices.
• Present performance findings and remediation recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
