Job summary

Neurophos, Inc. seeks an experienced People Operations leader to own onboarding, benefits, and HR compliance. You will partner with the Chief of Staff as we scale rapidly, build onboarding for engineers and operations staff, and own employment compliance from registrations to leaves.

This is the company’s first dedicated People Operations hire. You’ll design processes, implement Rippling as the HRIS, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, and Facilities to support growth from a lab-based workforce

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR or People Operations experience, including at least two years as the primary operational owner.
• Built or substantially rebuilt an onboarding program.
• Hands-on administration of a modern HRIS with configuration and reporting; Rippling preferred.
• Direct experience with multi-state employment compliance, including I-9 and E-Verify.
• Direct experience administering benefits, FMLA, ADA accommodations, and state leaves.
• Track record of writing HR policy and handbook language.
• Experience managing offboarding and training managers on compliance.
• Based in or relocate to Austin and able to work onsite full time.

Responsibilities

• Design and run onboarding from offer acceptance through day 60 with pre-boarding, access, and check-ins.
• Own multi-state employment compliance across listed states including postings and classifications.
• Manage Rippling as HR system of record: configure, automate workflows, report headcount and costs.
• Administer benefits end-to-end including open enrollment and HIPAA/ERISA obligations.
• Administer FMLA, ADA accommodations, and state leaves; align with unlimited PTO policy.
• Maintain employee handbook and HR policies across jurisdictions.
• Partner with leaders and Recruiting to set performance standards and cycles.
• Manage offboarding and coaching managers on compliance.
• Support international employment via EOR and entity setup; collaborate with Finance & Legal.
