Job summary

Duke University’s Lenox Baker Children’s Hospital, an extension of Duke Health, is hiring for a full-time registered nurse in Durham, NC. Join a pediatric clinic setting delivering outpatient services for diverse neurodevelopmental and metabolic disorders.

The role requires leadership in nursing care, delegation of tasks, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. A BSN or higher is preferred, with NC RN licensure and BLS certification, and participation in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• BSN required within two years if RN without BSN, and complete within five years of start date.
• Current RN license in North Carolina or compact license.
• BLS Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care according to medical and nursing plans of care and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise activities of licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Act as team leader or charge nurse as assigned and support coordination of patient care.
• Monitor and initiate corrective actions to maintain the environment of care, equipment, and resources.
• Support professional development, preceptorship, and patient/family education.
