Duke University Health System is seeking a Clinical Nurse II to provide professional nursing care in a pediatric procedure-based unit at the Duke University Hospital - Children's Health Center in Durham, NC. The position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) or an equivalent nursing credential, NC RN licensure (or compact), and BLS.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing OR Nursing Diploma program.
• Current registration with North Carolina State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse or compact RN licensure to practice in NC.
• BLS Certification required.
• Passion for teamwork and family-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide professional nursing care for patients per medical and nursing plans of care.
• Document nursing care using the nursing process and physician orders.
• Delegate tasks and supervise other licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Act as team leader or charge nurse for a group of patients or an entire unit.
• Monitor environment of care and maintain equipment and resources.
• Participate in professional development and support the development of staff and learners.
• Engage in performance improvement opportunities and activities.
