Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Lead Supplier Development Engineer for PCB/PCBA (STARSHIELD) in Hawthorne, CA. You will build and lead a team to industrialize electronics hardware, drive PPAP, ensure supplier quality, and collaborate across supply chain, engineering, and production.

You will oversee process improvements, provide DFM feedback, and manage supplier audits while maintaining strong cross-functional leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 3+ years of experience in engineering, supply chain, or quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop a team responsible for building high-performing suppliers for Starshield satellites, user terminals, and ground station products, ensuring reliability, cost, and delivery requirements to industrialize electronics hardware.
• Work closely with supply chain, engineering, design, operations, and production to maintain consistency in supply chain policies and processes across the organization
• Lead a team of engineers to execute responsibilities including reliability, PPAP, supplier quality data analysis, and CAPA implementation
• Create, improve, and implement supplier quality and manufacturing processes
• Review supplier issues and recommend appropriate actions
• Coordinate and participate in MRB, root cause, 8D and corrective actions
• Oversee supplier audits to ensure part performance and delivery commitments
• Understand production processes and DFM feedback into designs
• Develop process metrics to improve manufacturability and quality
• Develop schedules to bring up new parts and processes in the supply chain
• Lead and mentor engineers in a fast-paced environment
• Provide training on quality policies across the organization
• Develop relationships with cross-functional groups to reduce vendor defects
• Travel up to 60% and onsite in Hawthorne, CA
