Intuit, Inc. is seeking a Senior Payroll Tax SME to resolve complex state and federal payroll tax notices and prepare amended returns. You will lead case investigations, coach junior staff, and drive process improvements across the team.

The role emphasizes tax defect resolution, cross-state experience, and robust communication. It supports SelectTime remote operations with flexible hours and overtime eligibility.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in payroll tax focusing on defect resolution for notices and amended returns.
• Expert knowledge of state and federal payroll tax notices; ability to draft agency responses.
• Experience filing Form 941-X and state equivalents; multi-state exposure.
• Familiarity with local tax rules and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Resolve complex payroll tax notices across multiple states, owning full case lifecycle.
• Prepare and file amended Federal and State payroll tax returns across 10+ states.
• Diagnose payroll tax errors across periods; drive correction workflows to resolution.
• Maintain high productivity resolving Corrections, Amendments, and Notice requests.
• Monitor WIP, identify aging cases; escalate blockers with root-cause analysis.
• Serve as real-time resource for Senior Processors; coach staff on resolution processes.
• Contribute to SOPs, KBs, and QA; share learnings with stakeholders.
