Intuit leads a sophisticated Payroll Tax Operations unit seeking a Lead Tax Processor/SME to steer complex tax issues and governance. You will own SOPs, mentor staff, and supervise end-to-end tax processes across multiple jurisdictions while driving continuous improvement and accuracy.

The role emphasizes coaching, process governance, risk management, and collaboration with cross-functional teams, with flexible, hours-based engagement tailored to business needs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years payroll tax experience with complex tax defect resolution.
• Lead/SME experience with coaching junior staff.
• Expert knowledge of US tax payment and filing regulations across jurisdictions.
• Advanced writing skills to create SOPs and documents for tax processors.
• 5+ years handling highly sensitive escalations with minimal guidance.
• 4+ years in contact center or back-office operations.
• Comfortable using AI tools to improve workflows.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary real-time technical expert for TP1, TP2, and TP3 staff and coach resolution paths.
• Own authoring, review, and approval of SOPs and KB articles across core operations.
• Conduct quarterly formal coaching sessions using the SBIC feedback model.
• Lead or support team huddles, QA sessions, and Update boards; back-up for Daily Stand-Ups.
• Oversee WIP, backlog, and aging reports; advise staffing changes.
• Resolve severe payroll tax notices across state and federal levels.
• Approve complex amended Federal/State returns with audit trails.
• Identify compliance risks and communicate data-driven recommendations.
• Represent team in cross-functional meetings and offer risk-informed options.
