Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Senior Payroll Specialist to ensure accurate bi-weekly payroll processing and compliance for a diverse workforce in Ashburn, VA. This on-site role demands strong timekeeping control, policy interpretation, and proactive employee support.

You will validate timekeeping, resolve pay discrepancies, and assist audits while maintaining payroll records and reporting. Must be able to obtain a public trust clearance.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of payroll experience.
• Knowledge of federal labor standards and timekeeping requirements.
• Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, Deltek Costpoint preferred).
• Understanding of FLSA, PTO accruals, and multi‑state payroll rules.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply payroll policies consistently.

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing — Execute bi-weekly payroll cycles including hours, leave, deductions, and adjustments.
• Timekeeping Validation — Review timesheets for compliance with organizational and federal requirements.
• Issue Resolution — Research and resolve discrepancies related to pay, leave, or timekeeping.
• Employee Support — Provide guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and system navigation.
• Reporting — Prepare payroll summaries, reconciliation reports, and audit documentation.
• Record Maintenance — Maintain accurate payroll records and support system updates.
• Audit Assistance — Support internal and external audits with required documentation.
