Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Payroll Specialist (Mid-Level) to support payroll operations for a diverse technical and administrative workforce. The specialist will ensure accurate payroll processing, compliance with federal labor standards, and timely support for employees and internal stakeholders.

This role is fully onsite in Ashburn, Virginia, and candidates must have the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of payroll experience.
• Knowledge of federal labor standards and timekeeping requirements.
• Familiar with payroll systems (ADP, Paycom, Deltek Costpoint).

Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing — Execute bi‑weekly payroll cycles including hours, leave, deductions, and adjustments.
• Timekeeping Validation — Review timesheets for compliance with organizational and federal requirements.
• Issue Resolution — Research and resolve discrepancies related to pay, leave, or timekeeping.
• Employee Support — Provide guidance on payroll policies, procedures, and system navigation.
• Reporting — Prepare payroll summaries, reconciliation reports, and audit documentation.
• Record Maintenance — Maintain accurate payroll records and support system updates.
• Audit Assistance — Support internal and external audits with required documentation.

Salary and benefits include:

• Salary Range: $75,000-85,000 **depending on experience**
