Job summary

ESHYFT is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support payroll operations for a large, multi-state healthcare workforce. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role serves as a key operational partner responsible for payroll administration, payroll support, timekeeping audits, payroll reporting, payroll analytics, payroll reconciliations, payroll issue resolution, and payroll continuity.

Our office is located in Howell, NJ, approximately 70 miles south of NYC and 60 miles east of Philadelphia.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of payroll experience.
• Experience with large-volume, multi-state environments.
• Proficient Excel including Pivot Tables and lookup functions.
• Knowledge of W-2 and 1099 processes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Support payroll operations across large-volume W-2 and 1099 healthcare workforces.
• Review, audit, and validate employee hours, timecards, shift differentials, payroll adjustments, deductions, and payroll-related data.
• Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, payroll corrections, missing hours, direct deposit issues, payroll tax inquiries, and employee payroll questions.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for nurse payroll support and payroll-related issue resolution.
• Review payroll registers, funding reports, tax reports, exception reports, and payroll audit reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare payroll reporting, workforce reporting, overtime analysis, payroll analytics, ad hoc reporting, and data analyses to support decision-making.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, payroll liability analysis, payroll-to-general ledger balancing, payroll accrual support, and payroll-related month-end activities.
• Coordinate payroll vendor support requests, issue tracking, escalations, and payroll-related projects.
