Job summary

Kelly is hiring a Payroll Specialist in Raleigh, NC for a hybrid role (3 days in office, 2 days remote). The position covers full-cycle payroll for U.S. employees, including multi-state tax issues and garnishments.

Qualifications

• Five years of payroll experience required.
• End-to-end payroll processing experience required.
• High-volume payroll experience, 5000+ employees in multi-state settings.
• Familiar with payroll taxes, garnishments, and standard functions.
• Strong working knowledge of payroll systems.
• Must have ADP GlobalView or SAP Payroll experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and confidentiality.
• Strong communication skills; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Process full-cycle payroll for U.S. employees (about 6,000 across two payrolls).
• Collaborate with payroll lead and HR Operations to ensure timely processing.
• Manage time data imports, validate hours, and ensure accurate payments.
• Administer multi-state payroll and state tax requirements.
• Support payroll tax activities, including deductions and reconciliations.
• Handle garnishments and voluntary/involuntary deductions.
• Reconcile discrepancies and respond to payroll inquiries.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Participate in process improvements for payroll efficiency.
• Assist in evaluating contractor roles for permanent headcount.
