Job summary

NaphCare is seeking a Senior Payroll Specialist to join the Talent Acquisition team onsite at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL. The role focuses on accurate and timely payroll processing for assigned departments, ensuring correct wages, tax withholdings, and deductions per regulations.

Under the Payroll Manager’s supervision, you will audit pay changes, process high-volume payroll, review new-hire paperwork, and respond to payroll inquiries.

Qualifications

• 2+ years payroll processing experience, preferably with ADP.
• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (WFN) and Workforce Manager (WFMgr).
• Strong knowledge of payroll best practices.
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
• Calculate, issue, and record adjustments to pay related to retroactive changes.
• Audit new hire paperwork such as tax withholding forms and direct deposit to ensure accuracy.
• Scan and file payroll documents such as wage garnishments, tax withholding forms, and direct deposits.
• Processing and maintenance of all staff changes for payroll needs (hires, terminations, class changes, pay changes, transfers, etc.).
• Respond to and resolve any inquiries regarding paychecks.
• Utilize ADP Reporting to provide data quickly and accurately from the payroll system.
• Act as a backup for coworkers.
• Assist with special projects as needed.
