Job summary

Westchester County Department of Finance is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee payroll operations within a large public organization. You will ensure accurate, timely processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with tax laws and garnishments.

The role includes supervising staff, coordinating with the payroll vendor, and driving process improvements through automation to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Experience in payroll with a company of 500+ employees; tax reporting and garnishments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in payroll processing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll department operations to ensure timely and accurate payroll production.
• Audit payroll for garnishments, tax changes, and compliance with federal/state laws.
• Coordinate with payroll vendor to ensure contract requirements are met.
• Reconcile biweekly payroll and disburse to Federal/State agencies.
• Supervise payroll staff and provide performance evaluations.
• Collaborate with accounting/treasury to provide accurate payroll data to GL.
