Job summary

San Manuel Band of Mission Indians is seeking a Manager of Payroll to lead payroll shared services across multiple entities and states, including Tribal Members. The role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant payroll while safeguarding confidentiality and driving process improvements.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Admin and a CPP designation, with at least seven years in high-volume payroll and extensive Workday experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• CPP certification or equivalent credentials required.
• Minimum seven (7) years payroll leadership experience in high volume environments with multi-state exposure.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payroll operations for multi-entity, multi-state organization.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local payroll laws and regulations.
• Maintain internal controls, audit readiness, and data integrity.
• Lead process improvements and standard operating procedures for payroll.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and leadership to align payroll with business strategy.
• Manage and develop payroll staff and cross-functional teams.
