Job summary

La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club, Inc. is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee the complete payroll function for our CA-based properties.

You will coordinate with HR, Finance and department leaders to ensure accurate payroll, tax compliance, and secure handling of sensitive data. The role requires experience with Workday HCM, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and several years of payroll experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting or Finance and/or four to five years payroll experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Workday HRIS experience is required.
Experience with Federal, State and City employment laws applicable to the organization.
Proficiency in Word and Excel; payroll processing, HRIS, report generation, and data confidentiality.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of all company documents and information.
English communication required; Spanish language skills beneficial.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage full payroll cycle for accurate and timely processing.
Supervise Payroll Specialist; provide guidance, training and quality oversight.
Maintain up-to-date employee payroll records with HR and department leaders.
Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, tax requirements and internal controls.
Process payroll adjustments, bonuses, reimbursements and garnishments; generate reports.
