Job summary

San Manuel is seeking a Manager, Payroll to lead payroll shared services for a multi-entity, multi-state organization, including Tribal Members. The role aligns payroll systems with the organization’s business strategy and collaborates closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, HR and operations to mitigate financial, legal, and operational risk while safeguarding accuracy and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 7+ years progressive payroll experience in high-volume environments.
• 3+ years experience with Workday payroll (configuration, audits, reconciliations).
• CPP designation required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all payroll operations and ensure accurate, timely, compliant payroll administration.
• Interpret and implement payroll laws and policy changes to stay compliant.
• Maintain and improve payroll SOPs for accuracy and consistency.
• Analyze payroll data to identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and auditors to resolve issues.
• Perform other duties to support department operations.
