Job summary

Everus Construction Group, Inc. seeks a Payroll Manager to oversee end-to-end payroll for field and office staff across multiple states, ensuring accuracy and timely processing in line with federal, state, local, and union requirements.

You will partner with project management, HR, and Finance while maintaining strong internal controls and confidentiality. The role requires 5+ years of payroll experience, including supervisory responsibility, and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Education in business, accounting, finance, HR or related field or equivalent experience.
• Five+ years of payroll experience with at least three years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of payroll systems, tax laws, and multi-state compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage full multi-state payroll for hourly, salaried, and union employees.
• Ensure compliance with wage-and-hour, tax, and union requirements; prepare W-2s.
• Oversee timekeeping, project costing, audits, and records retention.
• Maintain payroll systems, data controls, and vendor relations; support HR/Finance IT.
• Lead month-, quarter-, year-end closes; perform reconciliations and dashboards.
• Develop and coach payroll staff; ensure internal controls and continuity.
