Job summary

City Wide Franchise is seeking a Payroll Manager to lead multi-state payroll operations, ensuring accurate compensation across entities. The role requires compliance with wage laws, union payroll considerations, and 401(k) plan administration.

You will oversee a payroll team, optimize processes, and partner with HR, Accounting, and Legal to align practices with regulations. Strong analytical skills and CPP are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required or preferred.
• Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) highly desired.
• 5+ years of multi-state payroll management experience.
• Experience with union payroll regulations and tax compliance.
• Proficient in ADP, Paycom or similar payroll software and Power BI.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states and entities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage laws and tax requirements.
• Supervise Payroll Specialist and provide coaching and development.
• Administer 401(k) contributions, loans, audits, and Form 5500 support.
• Liaise with third-party payroll providers and manage system configurations.
• Process changes, garnishments, and benefits deductions; handle off-cycle payments.
• Prepare payroll reports, GL postings, and year-end filings (W-2s).
• Maintain payroll policies and drive process improvements for accuracy.
