The Dover Companies are seeking a Sr. Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll across multiple entities and states. You will backup the Payroll Manager, ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely processing, and collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors.

Responsibilities include audits, tax filings, wage attachments, and driving payroll process improvements while safeguarding highly confidential compensation data.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in accounting or related field is required; a bachelor’s is preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive payroll experience in a multi-entity, multi-state setting.
• Experience leading payroll projects or initiatives is required.
• Deep knowledge of payroll practices, taxes, and wage and hour laws.
• Proficient with Paylocity or a comparable payroll/HCM system; advanced Excel skills.

Responsabilités

• Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt employees across states and entities.
• Back up Payroll Manager and assume full payroll operations when needed.
• Audit, reconcile timesheets, PTO, overtime, deductions; prepare GL entries.
• Lead payroll projects, system enhancements, and year-end activities from planning to implementation.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws; respond to tax notices.
• Handle wage attachments and maintain accurate deduction records.
• Coordinate with HR, Finance, and vendors; review payroll invoices for accuracy.
• Support 401(k) integration, funding, and error resolution with plan administrator.
• Train and mentor Payroll Specialists; maintain written procedures and controls.
