Job summary

City of New York seeks an Executive Director-level Administrative Accountant to oversee HR/payroll audits across multiple systems. The role focuses on accuracy, data integrity and timely resolution of audit findings while ensuring compliance with laws and policies.

The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail and the ability to manage a large payroll staff, with experience in NYPD/City databases and government payroll processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 24 credits in accounting and four years of accounting/auditing experience, or CPA with 18 months in admin/managerial capacity.
• Ability to oversee audits of HR and payroll transactions and ensure accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee auditing of HR and payroll transactions across multiple systems.
• Conduct time balance audits for separating employees and military personnel.
• Process NYCAPS transactions and leave adjustments in City Time.
• Generate and analyze reports in CHRMS, NYCAPS and other systems.
• Respond to union inquiries and coordinate with Leaves and Overpayment units.
• Manage payroll staff and ensure timely completion of duties.
